Update - Kiwanis (Standish)

This from Scott Callghan:

"At the Kiwanis Beach Car Show on September 18 we will possibly have the Bonny Eagle Pep Band in the afternoon, and there will also be the propsnappers float fly in at the beach ( a remote control float plane club). This will at least give an option to some folks for another show (Editor's note: alternative to Old Orchard)"

Over the last few years I have heard so many people complain about how the Old Orchard show is for out-of-staters, and how they do not even understand that Street Rods end with 1948. Well, this is an opportunity to enjoy a different show, relaxing at the beach in Standish.

Yes, Standish Kiwanis has it's problems, but no worse than Old Orchard, where they STILL think Street Rods go to 1950, even though many people told them they only go to '48. So expect to see non-street rods in the already too big street rod class. And a half dozen non-special interest in SI. And too-large classes being split up all over the landscape. And pay twice as much for the privilege of getting screwed. I think I'll pass. But I would go to the OOB Friday cruise. They don't screw that up (yet).

Why don't you tell us how you really feel??? From what I've heard your show needs plenty of help too so maybe you shouldn't throw too many stones and people might just show up at your show.

To the anonymous idiot who made the previous comment, Hotkarz does not HAVE any show. So, if you do not know what you are talking about, why not stop showing the world how ignorant you are. But if we ever did have a show you can bet the cars would be classed correctly, there would be sufficient room for the classes and we would not be charging twice what it's worth. (And a bicycle would not win in ANY class)

Whats the connection between a car show and the Bonney Eagle pep band? or the float fly in for that matter?I dont give a rats ass about either one!Just control the voting and ballots better and dont let cars win their classes when they arrive 15 minutes before the voting ends!!

The previous poster asks what is the connection. It's called ENTERTAINMENT. Kora and Sanford, as well as Owl's Head all have such things, with air shows etc. Just because 'special little you' do not give a "rat's ass" means nothing to others. Hate to break this to you, but the world does not revolve around you, or around what you like or do not like. Yes, the Standish show last year had serious issues, and I am the one who raised those issues for all to see. But that was last year. If you insist on living in the past and griping about it, just stay home and you will not have to worry about it. If you bring that attitude with you to shows, I doubt you would be missed much.

Hi All,
We will try to do the best we can to make the Kiwanis Car Show a Greta family event. We were extremly excited to be able to have the Bonny Eagle Pep Band play on the same day as the car show, there will be hundreds of people from the community that would love so see the band play at the beach, As far sa the Propsnappers thet are a great group of people with the hobby of flying remote control float planes, they are very fun to watch. So there seems to be a little something for everyone to enjoy...Cars,Band Music, and remote control planes... All proceeds made from this event will benefit Scholarships and Our Medical Loan Closet (The garage up by the club house)
