Bad News

It appears that both of Maine's Senators are working hard to pass a stimulus bill that, according to most economists, has little to do with stimulus. It appears that the bill will pass, but ONLY because Maine's so-called Republican senators are pushing it. Only 3 Republicans (in name only) are supporting this pork barrel, and two are from here in Maine. Even some Democrats have said this bill stinks! So why are Snowe and Collins pushing it?

Are you aware of what they are pushing? PORK for golf courses, a "mob" museum in Vegas, a waterpark, new cars for politicians, a frisbee park, icebreaking ships (I thought their Global Warming was taking care of that), and almost 400 BILLION DOLLARS of this bill the pawns our grandchildren's future for things that have nothing to do with creating jobs or stimulating the economy. This bill is nothing more than a "wish list" of Christmas spending on all the things Congress has been try to bill us for, but couldn't.

Obama promised transparency - but have you heard him speak one word of all these pork barrel projects in the bill? No. Nada.

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe a stimulus bill should actually stimulate something more than the desire to spend, spend, spend. We simply cannot afford pork anymore. If they want an $800 billion stimulus bill, the least they could do is make sure it is all stimulus.

Don't get me wrong - I would like to see a good stimulus bill get passed. But this ain't it. If you have not read it, you should. You would be just as disgusted as I.

Even Democrats should realize that all the bad decisions in the last several years have been made by either Democrats and/or RINO Republicans (Republican In Name Only). Most of the Republicans in Congress - and even President Bush - were RINO's.

It's time to STOP the Rino from charging - charging a trillion dollars to our children and grandchildren.

After all, even if this $800 billion does create the 4 million jobs they claim, that comes to over $200,000 of YOUR money to pay for EACH $35,000 job. And that is absolutely criminal.

Want more jobs? Enforce our immigration laws and make it impossible for illegals to work here. Then their 12 million jobs can go to the 12 million unemployed Americans, and illegals will self-deport if they cannot earn a living here. Three times as many jobs as the "stimulus bill", without any of the cost, and accomplished virtually overnight. Remember - illegals are sending $60 billion dollars a year back to their families in Mexico, instead of spending it HERE.

If this bill passes with the help of Maine's senators, I will work tirelessly to unseat them both in the next election.

We need better representation than people whose only response to an issue is to throw pork at it. Certainly, some of the spending in the bill is for worthy programs - but they do not belong in a STIMULUS BILL. Money for education, icebreakers, std research etc. are supposed to be funded in the budget, in the Omnibus bill. To sneak these things through by scaring folks and under the guise of stimulus is just plain dishonest.
