Stuff

Fred Gordon has a 350 LT1 engine for sale, from a police cruiser. Check it out (with pic) in the HotKarz classifieds.

We have a new "Featured Vehicle" - it's a fine '58 Chevy Fleetside owned by Ron Cobb. Check it out.

The Acton show ans Swap Meet is on Sunday, and the weather looks like it will accommodate. Unfortunately, prior committments will not allow me to attend :o(

Don't forget the Gorham Lion's Club show in Gorham next weekend - they did a super job on their first show last year, so don't miss it. It's a nice show.

I'll be posting pix of the Searsport Antique Vehicle Show shortly, courtesy of Connie Peacock - stay tuned.

Perhaps if anyone asked the show organizers in OOB they would learn that it has been many years since an increase for registration and costs of T-shirts, "goodie bags" trophies, dash plaques, advertising, postage etc. have all increased. Profits from this show are very small and the increase was based upon surveys done in Mass, Maine, & NH of similar shows. Additionally in response to past car show entrants the show now has a different registration process involving a more brocure look to it's registration forms. The increase in fee also promotes more pre-registrations so that the endless "waiting in line" to register wil be reduced or eliminated. Pre-registered cars can be "parked" faster and it aids planning when we know ahead of time how many cars plan to come. The committee will review the plans to eliminate the 3rd place trophy but I anticipate the show registration will remain the same.
